Do you want to be a Recruiting Superstar? Our Fast-track Academy is now open!

Redline Group, the Permanent & Contract high-technology and engineering recruitment specialist, has announced the opening of the second phase of its Recruitment Academy, the latest of the company’s strategies to continue their expansion of its existing 50+ team to 80+ by 2018.

As Redline’s Talent Academy reaches its second milestone, we look at the success of its first ‘graduates’. Our latest academy started with six budding recruits, of which four graduated. Its success is partly due to the individual talent of the participants, but also down to Natalie Tyler, Redline’s Talent Acquisition & Training Manager, our in-house training and development guru! She has taken the training from humble beginnings to a fully-formed academy.

Natalie comments “Brett, Kristian, Dante and Charlotte (Charlie) made our first training academy amazing. We decided to recruit purely against competencies and attitude, rather than previous experience on a CV, and they demonstrated they had many of the skills required for their potential to flourish. Each one has proven their ability and demonstrated high levels of personal development throughout the 12-week academy. That’s what the academy is about, giving you the tools and support to build your own future. After all, autonomy is one of core competencies.”

What did the budding recruits think of Redline’s Talent Academy?

Dante Stein: “When starting the academy I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I had never had any sort of experience within an office environment in my career to date so understandably, I was a little nervous. All of the team made myself and all of the other academy members feel very welcome which made learning the trade a much easier task. Of course, it was hard work but the materials given and the way the training is structured allows any learner to build their skills as a successful consultant.” says Dante.

Kristian Barnard: “I thought that the academy was a great way to open the door into the recruitment industry for me, being taught about all of the different aspects of the recruitment process over the 12 week programme which then allowed me to integrate into the Key Accounts division smoothly.” says Kristian.  

Charlie Belt: “Being a part of the Training Academy at Redline has given me the opportunity to take the first step in my career within the Recruitment Industry. This in-depth and dedicated training programme led by Natalie taught me all the foundations of what there is to recruitment. I now feel confident and well equipped with all my knowledge and skills to integrate smoothly into my new team. I honestly believe without the academy this transition wouldn’t have been as smooth, so I do recommend people who have thought about a career within recruitment to take their first step with Redline.” says Charlie. 

Brett Longden: “When starting the Talent Academy I was completely unaware of what was involved in recruitment. I’d never had dealings with agencies or used job boards before, and never had experience in an office environment. However from day one the whole company made myself and the other academy members feel welcome and involved which made the transition much easier. The 12 week programme was structured to give us the best chance of understanding the recruitment cycle and the way Redline work. Therefore I would definitely recommend the Talent Academy as a great way of getting into recruitment.” says Brett. 

The first academy had over 150 applicants. We conducted more than 50 telephone interviews and held face to face meetings with 20 candidates. Now, we look to do it all again. We’re giving people a chance to grow their skill set and work in a company that does recruitment differently.
