Principal Optical Engineer- JOB AVAILABLE IN DIDCOT, OXFORDSHIRE. 

An Oxfordshire based R&D organisation in the business of designing and developing electro-mechanical products for harsh environments are seeking a skilled Principal Optical Engineer to join their design team. This organisation have been around for over 15 years, serving high-quality sensor based product to aerospace, oil & gas, and various energy markets. 

As a Principal Optical Engineer, you will lead the development of optical sensing systems from concept definition, proof-of-concept to optimisation, verification and through to production.

The ideal Principal Optical Engineer will have the following skills / experience:
•	Strong experience and understanding of fibre optics, optical sensors or optoelectronics
•	Taking products through full lifecycle
•	Experience in Python and/or R programming languages
•	Fluency in NI Labview code to control test equipment and acquire data
•	Strong understanding of digital and analogue electronics
•	Comfortable in cross-disciplinary environment
