Location: Bologna, Italy (Hybrid – 1 day per week onsite)

A leading electronics technology company is seeking a Lead Firmware Engineer to join their growing team. This hybrid role, based in Bologna, offers the opportunity to lead the development of advanced firmware solutions for cutting-edge electronic products.

Key Responsibilities:
As the Lead Firmware Engineer, you will take technical ownership of firmware development and play a key role in defining and delivering embedded software that interfaces closely with hardware systems. Responsibilities include:

Leading the design, development, and optimisation of firmware for complex electronic devices.

Managing and mentoring firmware engineers, conducting code reviews, and ensuring adherence to development best practices.

Collaborating with hardware, software, and product teams to deliver reliable and efficient firmware solutions.

Ensuring firmware performance, stability, and integration with embedded systems and peripherals.

Overseeing testing, debugging, and deployment of firmware across multiple product platforms.

Key Skills & Experience:

Proven experience in a lead or senior firmware engineering role.

Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded systems and microcontrollers.

Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS), hardware interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART), and low-level driver development.

Knowledge of embedded debugging tools and methodologies.

Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork skills to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams.
