Junior Structural Designer – Outdoor Lighting Equipment
Location: Ware, Hertfordshire

An excellent opportunity for a Junior Structural Designer based in Ware, Hertfordshire to join the UK’s largest designer and manufacturer of outdoor lighting equipment, supporting a busy structural design team in producing detailed drawings and developing innovative products for global infrastructure projects.

This role is perfect for a creative and technically minded individual with SolidWorks experience, looking to build their career within a well-established and respected engineering business.

Main Responsibilities of the Junior Structural Designer (based in Ware, Hertfordshire):
• Produce sales and works drawings for existing products to meet individual customer specifications
• Support the development of new products and continuous improvement initiatives
• Create technical sales aids to support the commercial team
• Carry out engineering design checks using in-house design tools(training provided)
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure accurate and timely design outputs
• Maintain accurate records of all design work in line with company procedures

Requirements of the Junior Structural Designer (based in Ware, Hertfordshire):
• Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD and Microsoft Office software
• Understanding of structural and mechanical engineering fundamentals (advantageous)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
• Confident, enthusiastic, and adaptable with a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines
