International Laser Service Engineer

Our client, who are a leading developer of advanced laser systems and optical technologies, are looking for an International Laser Service Engineer – Barcelona to join their team on a permanent basis.

This role is primarily based in Barcelona, with extensive international travel to customer sites worldwide. The position is highly field-focused, supporting the installation, maintenance, and optimisation of cutting-edge free-space laser systems used in advanced scientific and industrial applications.

Key responsibilities of the International Laser Service Engineer – Barcelona job:
• Install, align, and commission advanced laser systems at customer sites globally.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose complex technical issues including optical misalignment, hardware faults, and software-related problems.
• Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and system upgrades to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.
• Collaborate closely with customers and internal engineering teams to ensure timely resolution of service requests.
• Document all service activities, including diagnostics, repairs, and recommendations for improvement.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying trends and proposing product or process enhancements.

Experience required for the International Laser Service Engineer – Barcelona job:
• Degree in Physics, Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
• Hands-on experience with lasers or optical systems, ideally within a laboratory or industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of electro-mechanical systems, including assembly, diagnostics, and fault finding.
• Experience working in a customer-facing or field service capacity is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with programming tools such as LabVIEW or Python is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and internationally.
• Willingness and ability to travel globally on a regular basis.
