Electronics Design Engineer (Analogue / Power Electronics / SMPS)

Are you an experienced Electronics Design Engineer? This is a fantastic opportunity to join an expanding engineering team in West Yorkshire, working at the forefront of analogue electronics, power electronics, and SMPS design.
You’ll play a key role in delivering cutting-edge solutions across power conversion, LED lighting systems, and embedded electronics, while mentoring engineers and shaping the technical direction of future products.

Key Responsibilities
•	Lead the design and development of analogue electronics and power systems, including SMPS (buck, boost, flyback)
•	Design and optimise power management and LED lighting control systems
•	Provide technical leadership and mentorship to electronics engineers
•	Oversee integration of embedded systems, control electronics, and HMI
•	Collaborate with hardware, software, and systems engineering teams
•	Troubleshoot complex power conversion, EMC, and thermal issues
•	Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, safety, and customer requirements
•	Produce and review technical documentation(schematics, PCB layouts, test specs)
•	Drive continuous improvement and engineering best practices
•	Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging electronic technologies

 Skills & Experience Required
•	Proven experience in analogue electronics and power electronics design
•	Strong expertise in switch-mode power supplies (SMPS)
•	Deep knowledge of electronic circuit design and system integration
•	Experience leading projects or mentoring engineering teams
•	Proficiency with tools such as SPICE, MATLAB, Altium Designer
•	Solid understanding of EMC, thermal management, and safety standards
•	Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
•	Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities

 Desirable Experience
•	LED lighting systems and control electronics
•	Embedded systems or mixed-signal design
•	HMI (Human Machine Interface) development
•	Experience in regulated industries (e.G. Automotive, aerospace, industrial)
