Electromechanical Technician

Are you an Electromechanical Technician looking for your next challenge? Whether you're an aspiring engineer with a strong interest in electrical and mechanical systems or an experienced technician looking to develop your skills further, my client has an excellent opportunity to join their growing build team.

This is a hands-on role where you will be involved in the assembly, wiring and integration of highly specialised laser and precision machinery, working from engineering drawings and schematics to build bespoke equipment from concept through to completion.

In this Electromechanical Technician role based in Oxfordshire, you will be responsible for the following:
• Assembling bespoke machinery from start to finish using schematic and layout drawings.
• Fitting, wiring and building precision laser-based machinery and equipment.
• Installing electrical components in accordance with engineering schematics and drawings.
• Carrying out electrical wiring, module wiring and soldered connector assembly.
• Using hand tools, measuring equipment, hand drills and pillar drills to complete build activities.
• Supporting fault finding, quality assurance and repair activities.
• Working closely with other departments to ensure projects are completed on time and to the required quality standards.
• Maintaining a safe and organised working environment at all times.

The successful applicant for this Electromechanical Technician job based in Oxfordshire should have:
• The ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately within a high-precision engineering environment.
• Experience using hand and power tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, spanners and power drills.
• An understanding of electrical wiring, module assembly and soldered connectors.
• Good time management skills and the ability to work to project deadlines.
• A proactive attitude towards fault finding, troubleshooting and quality improvement.
• Experience building electro-mechanical equipment, electrical control cabinets or machinery would be advantageous but is not essential.
• GCSEs, A Levels, BTEC qualifications or equivalent demonstrating an aptitude for electrical and mechanical engineering.
