Redline Group, the Permanent & Contract high technology and engineering recruitment specialist, continues its investment in talent after ‘graduating’ four new recruits from its inaugural Recruitment Academy.
This is the first major intake of graduates from the Academy since it commenced earlier in 2017, offering a structured development programme and the opportunity to gain hands-on experience within the technology recruitment industry. The new Recruitment Consultants are now assigned across Redline’s Permanent and Contract Divisions.
Graduating from the Academy are:
Brett Longden - Brett joined the Academy from the world of Professional Football with the mighty Luton Town. Having played for a number of professional clubs he began looking for long-term roles within the commerical sector. Brett’s competitive experience and winning nature gives him an edge when it comes to recruitment. Throughout the programme his commitment and drive was fantastic and he really embraced every aspect of training. Brett’s ability to source and identify candidates makes him the perfect member of our Manufacturing & Operations Team.
Kristian Barnard – Kristian joined the Academy following completion of his studies in Business Management and working in sales for a local sports venue. Whilst there he developed some key skills to transfer to the academy programme. During training, Kristian picked up all aspects of recruitment and was dedicated to any tasks assigned. His ability to understand key technical skills and relate them when talking with candidates was fantastic, which is ideal for our Key Accounts Division.
Dante Stein – Dante’s background is Mechanical Engineering as an Aerospace Apprentice. He joined the Academy having most recently worked in Automotive Sales. Combining his sales and engineering knowledge made him an ideal candidate for the programme. Dante thrived during the Academy, his ability to build rapport is excellent and his enthusiasm infectious. His continued determination to succeed makes him ideal for our Contracts Division.
The Training Academy has been specifically designed to identify and enhance the skills of Trainee Recruitment Consultants through a fun and inspiring way of learning. The programme initially covers the recruitment ‘basics’ via a mix of classroom, technology and desk-based training together, combined with external courses.
Charlotte Belt – Charlie applied to the Academy having completed her degree, obtaining a 2:1 in Business Management. Her experience of running large events at University and working within the restaurant trade enabled her to develop excellent customer service skills, something she was able to really utilise with Candidates early in the programme. Her dedication, motivation and desire to succeed is exceptional, making our specialist Manufacturing & Operations Division the right place for her to thrive.
Natalie Tyler, Talent Acquisition & Training Manager at Redline Group, said: “The Academy has proven to be a very valuable recruitment tool. It’s imperative that we are able to address the skills gap in the sector. Re-training and up-skilling ambitious individuals, who might not have been to university or worked in the technology recruitment industry before, is an effective way to tackle this issue.”
“Following the Academy success, we are looking to launch the next Talent Academy in September this year. We will be looking for motivated, driven and talented individuals who seek a well-supported chance to join the rapidly expanding world of Technology Recruitment. Martin Crapper, Managing Director at Redline Group comments: “Redline has grown > 55% in the last two years in response to expanding client needs and growth in high-technology professionals across the UK and Europe. For Redline to continue to 100 staff, we need to identify and develop 30+ new staff over the next 2-3 years. One of Redline’s key differentiators is not just what we do, but HOW we do it. What’s critical for us is to ensure our Consultants have the right approach, attitude, skills and style to continue to deliver the high-quality recruitment & retention advice to clients. Our standards are high, our clients even higher and 35+ years in the high-technology sector is quite a legacy to build upon. We’re also keen to give opportunities to people who may have seen recruitment as a negative option. Alas there are some horror stories out there, but our business has an average tenure of nearly 7 years, so we are genuinely investing for the long-term, both in our employees, new recruits and our customers. I’m really excited about the four new people in our teams and can’t wait to meet our next group.”
