Earlier this year, Redline Group launched its first Talent Academy programme – through which we appointed six trainee recruitment consultants. Following the success of this initiative, Redline Group today announced the opening of the second phase of its recruitment academy. The academy plays a key part in the company’s strategy to grow from its existing 60+ team to 80+ by 2019.
The Talent Academy has been specifically designed to enhance the skills of trainee recruitment consultants through a fun and inspiring way of learning the recruitment basics. The programme combines a mix of learning opportunities from the Group's InspiRED classroom-based training to online platforms, as well as on the job training, allowing individuals to embrace different recruitment techniques.
The Academy is being led by Natalie Tyler - Redline’s talent acquisition & training manager who has been in the business for more than 10 years. She has personally assisted many European high-technology businesses, identifying and securing talent across many disciplines including engineering, sales, operations, and management. Tyler is at the heart of Redline’s growing business with a brief to train, develop and ultimately ensure the success of the new trainee consultants.
Natalie Tyler, Talent Acquisition & Training Manager at Redline Group, said: “After great success with the first academy intake I’m very excited to be starting the next group. The academy and the InspiRED classroom based training is about, giving individuals the tools and support to build a career in the specialist field of high-technology recruitment”.
Adam Walker comments: “Redline has continued to grow at over >55% in the last two years in response to ever expanding client needs. Overall the demand for both permanent and contract technology professionals remains high especially within disciplines such as engineering, research & development, and the IT arena.
One of Redline’s key differentiators is our knowledge-led approach, it’s not just what we do, but HOW we do it. What’s critical for us is to ensure our Consultants have the right approach, attitude, and skills to continue to deliver the high-quality recruitment & retention advice to clients.
Three years ago, the number of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and maths) vacancies outnumbered candidates by nearly two to one, with recent figures showing a growing appetite for science, technology, engineering and maths careers among job searchers. According to data from the UK Commission for Employment and Skills last year, 43pc of STEM vacancies are hard to fill because of a shortage of applicants with the required skills and experience.
Specialist recruitment partners offering in-depth knowledge of the specialisms will be even more key to hard pushed employers trying to find staff.
Our standards are high, our clients even higher and 35+ years in the high-technology sector is quite a legacy to build upon. For Redline to continue to 100 staff, we need to identify and develop 30+ new staff over the next 2-3 years.
To assist the new Academy employees, we provide a great working environment and we’ve put together development programmes covering the skills they’ll need to start them on the path to becoming a professional high-technology recruiter. Our business has an average tenure of nearly 7 years, so we are genuinely investing for the long-term, both in our employees, new recruits and our customers.
