A leading aerospace / defence company are seeking an experienced Power Electronics Design Engineer to join their large R&D facility in Middlesex. This is a rare opportunity for a highly experienced Power Electronics Design Engineer to lead highly complex R&D projects and assist with the development of new and innovative products.

As the Power Electronics Design Engineer, you will have technical authority in designing and developing high and low voltage switch-mode power converters to provide the bias and control voltages for Travelling Wave Tube based RF amplifiers.  

Key skills and experience for the Power Electronics Design Engineer role based in Middlesex: 

• High-voltage switch mode power supply (SMPS) design / development (Kv).
• A core background in electronics design engineering.
• Ability to lead design and development projects from initial concept through to prototype stage. 
• Design for safety critical projects within an aerospace, defence, or a similar environment but other industries will be considered. 
• Ideally qualified to degree level within a relevant engineering discipline. 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Power Electronics Design Engineer to join a growing team who can offer 1 day per week hybrid working, and are commutable from London, Hertfordshire, Surrey and Berkshire.
