Head of Engineering & Sales Divisions
Redline offered me an exciting opportunity, full training and great support to move into a professional technology recruitment role within their Engineering team. Thirteen years later I have never looked back and have now worked in most parts of the business developing a range of managerial and industry skills. Although not from a formal technical background, I was able to utilise the resources, expertise, and experience of my colleagues to develop my knowledge of the industries, technologies, and clients. I still love speaking with candidates and customers finding out more about their backgrounds and experiences, then working with them to identify exciting opportunities or develop a winning recruitment plan.

Our clients are nationwide, and I’ve really enjoyed building enduring relationships with them. It’s very rewarding to receive feedback that our knowledge-led approach, quality of work, and the service levels I and the team aspire to achieve, really make a difference. I have achieved several promotions from Senior Consultant, Management to my current strategic role of Head of Engineering & Sales. I’ve managed teams and previously took over the reins for recruitment and training, developing the best talent. I worked with the board to create Redline's first ‘Recruitment Academy’ enhancing existing and new recruiters/managers with bespoke training. Redline forecasts continued growth for the coming years and it’s a privilege to be responsible for making this happen! I have now returned to my routes and manage the Engineering and Sales & Marketing Divisions.

Associate Director of R&D Contracts Division
I joined Redline Group’s Contracts Division at the peak of recession over 7 years ago. On first day (and the entire year that followed) I accounted for 50% of the team. Since then, I have been instrumental (I believe at least!) in growing the business. The company has recognised my efforts through regular promotion from Consultant, Senior Consultant, Account Manager, (responsible for the company’s largest account) Managing Consultant to my current role as Manager of Redline’s Contract R&D Business. Having specialised in engineering contract recruitment prior to my life at Redline, I am confident the environment, people and training allow individuals to flourish and exceed challenging targets. I have always sought to be the name at the top of the leader board and accomplished the accolade of top-biller in my first three consecutive years. I’m proud to be the only person in the company to attend every incentive trip since 2010 to places such as Ibiza, Miami and Las Vegas.
I have recently been promoted to Associate Director of Contracts & Interim. Having full responsibility for a business unit is absolutely my biggest, yet most enjoyable challenge to date. Every day is a true pleasure, having the opportunity to inspire individuals to succeed, whilst further contributing to the overall success and long term strategy
I am confident the environment, people and training allow individuals to flourish.”

Following graduation I spent 18 months in telesales before finding my first role in specialist recruitment within the engineering/construction sector before joining Redline in early 2008. I initially joined their Engineering and Operations Division, working with clients in the Nuclear, Electronics, Scientific and Energy sector before joining the dedicated Energy & Automation Team to focus on those growth sectors. Having previous experience of a technical recruitment company has made me really appreciate the differences that Redline offers its clients and candidates, as well as its employees.
There’s been great leadership, support and encouragement when developing new sectors and markets, which has allowed me to focus my efforts on my challenges in building my business, which has resulted in significant growth each year. I have achieved a number of promotions within the business including Account Manager to my new role of Managing Consultant where I am now taking responsibility for managing and mentoring colleagues as well expanding our presence within the sector and helping build the team at Redline.

I initially joined Redline Group’s Engineering Division in 2010 as a Recruitment Consultant. When I first started working here, the business was only 25% of what it is now. That’s one of the reasons I have progressed my career with Redline as they are innovative, always thinking about what to do next and how to develop the existing clients and divisions. Working closely and directly with clients has always been one of my strengths and I was soon promoted to working in Key Accounts. I am now a Manager of the Key Accounts division and I appreciate the guidance and extensive industry knowledge I receive from Redline Directors. They are the brains of the technical recruitment industry and truly are an inspiration. Additionally, Redline's organisational culture, work ethics, reward and progression route encourages me to strive at what I do for the business.

My typical day…My day always starts by catching up with my clients, conversations with hiring managers at the beginning of the day are important as they could affect my daily plan. I then continue the morning by identifying and sourcing candidates. Over lunchtime (when candidates are more available), I arrange interviews then take time out for some lunch with colleagues in our kitchen/break-out area, this is normally followed by a brisk walk around the business park to burn off some unwanted calories and clear the mind!
My most memorable work moment…Was skiing this year at Redline’s Sales Conference in Morzine, France. Spending time in an amazing part of the world with friends, enjoying good food, drink and laughs was incredible, it cannot be beaten. It has helped to continue to push for the incentive trips that Redline offers.
I honestly can’t think of any other role where I can talk about the sector and learn so much more on a daily basis.”

I joined Redline in 2015 almost straight out of university where I studied to become a teacher or social worker as I had a passion to help people. The more I investigated teaching the less I was sure it was right for me. Still wanting to stay in a people-oriented business, Redline hired and trained me as one of their Recruitment Consultants within the R&D and Engineering division and I've not looked back since. Working for Redline is genuinely rewarding - It's very personal, knowing that I'm assisting someone in their future career. Employers recognise the value of top talent - those individuals that can drive their business forwards and boost the bottom line. I’ve learnt to access the skills and experience they desire. I love helping my candidates and clients. Since my learn-as-you-go days, I am proud to say I have been promoted to Senior Consultant and I'm looking forward to continuing to grow and work my way to the top!
Helping people secure the right role can be life changing whilst transforming businesses!"
