Redline Group engage in ‘Sourcing Ninja’ training
At Redline Group we are passionate about recruitment and recognise the need to continually invest in our Consultants with many forms of in-house and external training. Currently, Redline employees, including Senior and Managing Consultants, are participating in Social Talent’s ‘Sourcing Ninja’ training course. The course was developed by Social Talent, an Irish start-up who have quickly become a leading provider of online and social media training to the worldwide recruitment and staffing industry. Over 750 companies in 70 countries are using the Social Talent platform to train and certify their staff.
The training programme covers a wide variety of topics, from advanced Boolean search techniques through to recruitment via social media and employer branding. Redline Group Consultants have completed short ‘micro-learning’ videos on topics including different approaches to writing job advertisements, finding hidden talent, building a sustainable network of specialist contacts, connections and improved candidate engagement.
The Sourcing Ninja training techniques are designed to enhance and further develop the existing methodologies which Redline Consultants already use in their everyday sourcing of skilled, professional, sought-after talent, within the specialist engineering and technology sectors. The processes amplify the innovative ways Redline engages with these individuals.
As specialists in the Technology recruitment arena, Redline Group recognises that in today’s world, Consultants have to be part investigator, part marketer and part sales person. It is vital for Consultants to have the ability to find those hidden, sought-after candidates and engage with them quickly. With Senior and Managing Consultants feeding back what they have learned to Redline Group’s expanding 50+ person team, the course has provided a suite of proactive learning tools to enable all the team to become Sourcing Ninjas.
Despite extensive research demonstrating the high cost of recruiting the wrong people, many employers still have a surprisingly unstructured approach to screening and selection of key staff. Recruiting a new member of the team has to be one of the most important activities undertaken by a manager. Bill Gates’ well-known advice to “hire the smartest people” is common in the technology arena where the ‘war for talent’ is a perennial problem.
Redline Group continues to offer its customers an ever-developing range of professional sourcing and selection methodologies. This type of continuous training adds to the range of techniques which a Consultant can utilise when working on difficult briefs from niche clients. Although no single selection strategy can guarantee success, the suite of tools used by Redline Consultants in sourcing talent, candidate engagement, competency based interviewing and reference taking, all assist in selecting the right candidate, first time.
Redline Director Nick Livingstone said “As a recruiter I’m always looking for new techniques and methods for sourcing candidates in the Management, Technical and Sales sectors Redline Group operate. The content is engaging and interactive and I find it very useful when delivering what we have learned to our team of Consultants. I look forward to completing the course and becoming a certified “Sourcing Ninja” and the training has certainly improved our efficiency and effectiveness in our Consultants’ sourcing processes when reaching out to new candidates.”
