Chris Forsyth awarded Best Newcomer of the Year at 10th Annual IRP Awards 2018

Redline Group, the Permanent & Contract high-technology and engineering recruitment specialist is pleased to announce Chris Forsyth, Senior Consultant in Redline’s Manufacturing & Operations Division has been awarded Best Newcomer of the Year in the REC’s Institute of Recruitment Professionals (IRP) Awards 2018.

The REC’s Institute of Recruitment Professionals (IRP) celebrated its tenth annual awards at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London. The prestigious awards celebrate the best and brightest in recruitment for 2018 and the best practice and professional excellence of its inspirational members.

Prior to joining Redline, Chris spent 10 years as a professional golfer and coach gaining a degree from the University of Birmingham in Professional Golf and Business. Due to a severe injury, Chris was forced to leave golf and used his business education and experience, targeting the £35Bn recruitment industry as a key sector to build his next career.

Chris comments: “I’m really happy and excited to win this award. I was not expecting it at all and just to get in the top 7 in the UK was an achievement. It’s a credit to the training, knowledge-led approach and on-going support I was given from Redline and my manager Rachael Dent, as I had no recruitment experience at all. Let’s hope I can build on this award and become best Permanent Recruitment Consultant next year.”

Rachael comments: “It’s a great pleasure to not only congratulate Chris on his award but also to manage him. His highly focused drive and determination since he joined Redline have been impeccable. Keep up the good work Chris and we look forward to more awards in the coming years.”

The IRP Awards are the pinnacle of the industry, the night when the UK’s recruitment industry comes together to celebrate all that is great about the industry. Over the last 10 years, the IRP Awards has seen over 190 winners, 1,150 shortlisted recruiters and companies, and thousands more recruitment professionals nominated to celebrate the best of our industry.

Winning an IRP Award is the most impressive industry recognition an individual or company can achieve and is unique in raising awareness towards the positive role models whose exceptional work, candidate care and client relations set the bar for all recruitment professionals and businesses to aspire to.

Martin Crapper Managing Director of Redline Group comments:

“A vibrant and high-quality recruitment industry is essential to the success of UK plc, enabling organisations to find and secure the talent and resources to be successful. For Redline to continue its growth and innovation and deliver the best candidates and services, we need the most capable, resourceful and creative recruiters.  Last night’s awards were focused on the individual recruiters, but a huge congratulations also go to the Managers and support teams in the development and growth of their consultants.”

Commenting on Redline Group’s Laura Preston who was also shortlisted for Temporary Consultant of The Year, Martin said “The bar was set high again this year, your sustained achievements over the 5+ years with Redline are astounding.  Reflect on the success of being recognised as one of the top 1% in the country. You may not have your hands on this year’s trophy, but your value is recognised by all your colleagues who aspire to your standards and success.”
