A recent survey via career and salary comparison website Glassdoor (www.glassdoor.com) has highlighted technical engineering careers as some of the best occupations for job satisfaction for young professional workers in their 20’s, when starting out on their career path.

Finding a job that will make you happy is a top priority for most young people.

Topping the list, twenty-somethings gave Marketing Manager an average satisfaction rating of 4.0 on the website’s review section – where employees rate their job satisfaction on a scale of one to five, with one being very dissatisfied and five being very satisfied.

Glassdoor used the job reviews written on its site over the past three years to determine that software and mechanical engineers, make the top three best jobs for employees between the ages of 20 and 29.

Redline director Adam Walker commented: "It's interesting to see the range of jobs highest rated among people in their 20s, and that careers involving the creation of technology figure very highly. A software engineer has one of the most in-demand and lucrative careers in the world with rapid expansion of the profession as software continues to touch our everyday lives.”

Individuals in these computer careers need to know how to architect, but they also need to know how to program and perform other functions with which they work on a regular basis.
