Redline’s 2017 calendar theme is all about Precision, Vision and Skill. The calendar comes as a complete origami kit designed as a desktop calendar, with a full year of origami challenges for you to attempt.
Whether you fold a Butterfly, Rabbit, or for those of you who have advanced paper folding skills, a complex Flying Saucer, every month has a new origami model supported by easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions, online video tutorial and illustrations.
The perfectly square origami paper is leafed throughout the calendar, so don’t worry if you mess up on your first go. If you run out of paper, you can use any squared paper. Why not use your corporate paper and show us your finished models?
Origami is the Japanese art of paper folding and has proven to be so much more than just a beautiful craft idea. Origami is good for the mind and helps develop abilities such as cognitive development, spatial reasoning and teaches skills that are necessary and beneficial in everyday life. The ancient art of origami is inspiring cutting-edge technology. For example, NASA created Origami models to verify the architecture of a new solar array. They hope one day that the array could act as an orbiting power plant that wirelessly beams power down to Earth using microwaves. Sending the solar arrays up to space would be easy, because they could all be folded and packed into a single rocket launch, with "no astronaut assembly required."
Redline will publish full video instructions at the beginning of each month www.redlinegroup.com/redline-origami. We look forward to seeing your precision, vision and skill in the models throughout the year.
