Job description

A leading scientific research and development organisation who design and manufacture complex ultra-high vacuum deposition systems are seeking a UHV Design Engineer - Components / Instrumentation to join their team in Thame, Oxfordshire. This is a very unique opportunity to work for a company at the forefront of thin-film technology and nano-engineering.

As a UHV Design Engineer - Components / Instrumentation you will be responsible for developing new UHV deposition components and instrumentation, working closely with scientists and engineers to build components.

Skills / Experience required:
> Previous experience in the development or re-development of UHV components / instrumentation.
> A strong understanding of vacuum deposition techniques.
> Ability to understand both the physics / engineering side of product development.
> Ability to run projects individually, managing timescales to achieve product delivery.
> Exposure to electronics design and mechanical design would be beneficial.
> All candidates be degree qualified in Physics or an engineering discipline, ideally to PhD level.
