My client is a well-known, multi-million pound company, specialising in the development of bespoke special purpose machinery technology for a number of industries.

The organisation is seeking a System Engineer at any level, Principal, Senior or Engineer. In this job you will lead and manage the development, execution of product validation and life-cycle product support across allocated projects and development activities.

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for the Design and Full Life Cycle Development of the high-tolerance, high-speed vacuum, tailor-made products for an increasing number of applications, including - but not limited to - semiconductors, renewables, displays, R&D and a rapidly-increasing number of applications. Based in West Sussex but commutable from Brighton, West Sussex, Brighton,Uckfield, Lewes, Haywards Heath, Horsham, Crawley, Kent, Falmer, East Grinstead, Mid Sussex and Surrey among others.

In the Systems Engineer job, you will/could be responsible for all the following depending on your level of experience:
Requirements capture and product requirements specification.
Responsible for product systems modelling
Lead and manage a team of systems engineers.
Responsible for performance and development of individual engineers within systems team.
Responsible for ensuring appropriate engineering processes and tools are used.

The requirements for the Systems Engineer job are:
Demonstrable experience of managing product design projects
Demonstrable record leading and developing teams if at Principal level
A sound understanding of the systems design process.
Ability to inspire a team of engineers if at the Principal level

Ideal Candidates for the Systems Engineer job, will hold the following skills and qualifications:
Ideally BSc qualified in an engineering subject.
Experience of Systems Engineering and requirements capture in a complex systems engineered product environment such as aerospace, automotive, special purpose machines, renewables, automation and control etc.
In-depth experience of NPI, DFMEA, risk analysis techniques and ideally HAZOP.
Knowledge of Product Data Management Tools (PDM) such as SmartTeam and MAPICS.
Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics knowledge, though P&ID and CATIA could be beneficial
