Job description

My client design and manufacture a broad range of Scientific Instrumentation equipment that is used all over the world. They are a global billion dollar technology company and a world leader in their field.

Due to expansion they currently require a Senior Systems Engineer- Physics / Scientific Instrumentation to join their expanding R&D facility.

Their products are highly complex and mainly opto-mechanical and opto-electronic in nature.

Job profile for the - Senior Systems Engineer- Physics / Scientific Instrumentation:
> To develop the overall system concept and sub-system specifications necessary to meet the product requirements. Due to the high performance nature of the equipment, it is often very challenging in design terms to achieve the required precision, stability, speed and cost performance goals.
> The successful candidate will apply physics and engineering knowledge and experience in combination with good design and problem solving ability to develop products that meet performance and cost targets. You will operate in a central role within a multidisciplinary project team and take responsibility for technical leadership, product specification, systems design, evaluation programs and troubleshooting. An understanding of all aspects of system design is critical.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience - Senior Systems Engineer- Physics / Scientific Instrumentation:
> A degree in Physics would be ideal, but Engineering / Sciences are also fine.
> Knowledge of optics and precision engineering
> Experience of product development within a multi-disciplinary team environment
> Experience in reviewing designs and defining technical approach
> Proven experimental design capability
> Proven ability to develop designs and troubleshoot complex system architectures
> Proven research capabilities
> Good data processing / mathematical ability
