Job description
My client design and manufacture complex RF / Electronic products and systems that are used to provide high speed broadband and IoT solutions and services.
Due to expansion they currently require a Senior RF / Analogue Hardware Design Engineer to join their Central London R&D team.
You will join a small, highly skilled, team of engineers working on the companies latest products. They are about to embark on new design projects and are at the requirements definition stage, so this is a great time to join and still have influence on the designs.
The role requires a strong mix of RF and analogue electronic knowledge and is focused on circuit design not high-level RF systems.
Technical responsibilities of the Senior RF / Analogue Hardware Design Engineer, will include:
- As a member of the hardware development team, your role will be to design, verify, commission and productise board-level hardware designs for the companies products.
- You will take a lead role in developing and strengthening the existing engineering team with a strong background in Analogue and RF electronic circuit design to arrive at a level of excellence for product development, delivery and cost-effective PCB designs.
- You will take ownership of hardware designs from requirements specifications, generating hardware specifications, schematic entry though to PCB layout, fabrication, commissioning, verification and integration into systems.
- Collaborating with the other members of the hardware, software, systems and mechanical teams to ensure effective support of the existing development programmes.
- Performing design calculations and RF/Analogue simulations using industry standard tools in order to estimate performance, identify high-risk areas and ensure reliable designs.
Skills for the Senior RF / Analogue Hardware Design Engineer, will include:
- At least 5 years' experience of complex Analogue and RF circuit design with a proven track record in the development of complex products / systems.
- Strong technical knowledge of Analogue and RF circuit design techniques from the specification, design and verification phases through to systems integration and manufacture.
- Be able to demonstrate significant experience in the design and characterisation of mixed-signal (Analogue/Digital/RF) multi-layer PCB designs and the associated debug and integration issues.
- Highly capable in the design, analysis and characterisation of circuits and systems involving multiple PLLs, frequency synthesizers, NCOs, Modulators, De-Modulators, discrete filters, rat-races and integrating them into board-level designs. Understanding of key performance parameters.
- Design, analysis and layout of point of load power supply design. Familiarity with simulation tools & test methods for transient analysis, loop stability and frequency response analysis.
- Ability to liaise with and manage PCB layout engineers, fabricators and assembly houses.
- Competent practical experience in the use of test equipment such as scopes, spectrum analysers, PNAs, VNAs, signal generators, power meters.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast moving, dynamic technology company offering very challenging work, great career prospects in their Central London location.
