If you answer yes to both of the above then we have the job for you. My client is a global leader in the design & development of science & engineering instrumentation. They are currently recruiting for an Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Special Purpose Machinery to join their growing R&D team.
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Special Purpose Machinery you will be responsible for:
> To provide the mechanical engineering contribution to the design of systems, mechanisms, mouldings and overall product design, ensuring that required performance criteria are met over a range of environmental conditions and sample types, and in accordance with design for excellence (DfX).
> These will be for development of new instrumentation solutions, or to improve the capability and performance of existing products.
> To develop mechanical system design solutions, using a combination of theoretical and empirical design approaches, including activities such as brainstorming, concept selection, DFMA and FMEA's.
They key skills required for this Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Special Purpose Machinery are:
Entry Qualifications
> Mechanical Engineering degree at a 2:1 or above or equivalent experience, preferably Chartered or working towards Chartership.
Skills & Experience
> 5 yrs. Experience minimum in an instrumentation development environment with specific experience of some of precision mechanics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, design of mechanisms, product design, motor drives or control theory.
> Experience with manufacturing process such as moulding, casting, machining (CNC), Additive, Sheet metal and finishing processes,
