Job description

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer based in Oxford, Oxfordshire, required to lead the strategic and physical product development for one of our closest customers. The Senior Mechanical design Engineer based in Oxford will lead a design team of six.

Working for a key organisation in a very niche industry, positioned between automotive and special purpose machines, you will be based in their facility in Oxfordshire.
This is an exciting opportunity working for an established multimillion-pound SME with the substantial backing of a large US organisation.

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will lead, manage, and be accountable/responsible for the facets of the Engineering Department and associate product lines. This includes management responsibilities of new product development and execution (design, engineering, analysis, release, production, etc).
This is an excellent opportunity to lead, develop, and manage a growing engineering department/team, and have a significant impact on the technical strategy and implementation.

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer job based in Oxford will:
- Develop and provide technical information of high complexity such as 3D models, 2D detailed drawings
- Creation of 2D drawings to relevant standard and 3D modelling in Solidworks.
- Lead Tolerance analysis, FEA and DFMEAs
- Full product development on Consumer products

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer job based in Oxford candidates must have:
- Solidworks Experience
- Experience in either Injection Molding, Vac forming, sheet metal, metal pressing, welding processes.
- Consumer product design experience
