A very high-tech sensor application company are looking to hire in Berkshire!

My client has brand new projects which involve cutting edge technology for down hole sensing that could really stretch limits compared to other sensors that are currently out there on the market! Their sensors are niche and will be implementing new technology for the next generation of their products. Therefore its unique with hardly any competitors.

Due to expansion they are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer- FEA who will support the company's growth by strengthening the technology team, especially but not exclusively towards the development of innovative sensor technology.

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - FEA will be responsible for the full life cycle design of their products in R&D. You will drive the full process from concept through to the final manufacturing stage. This person will be at the forefront of company development and innovation.
Primary Responsibilities of the Senior Mechanical Engineer - FEA:

- Generation or review of new opto-mechanical sensor design concepts from first principles.
- 3-D CAD and FEA stress and strain and thermal modelling of candidate designs.
- Performing NPI and support production volume roll-out.

Essential Requirements of the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - FEA:

- Down hole experience
- A few years' mechanical engineering experience in a small to medium volume environment,
- Mechanical CAD experience (CREO 4.0 and Solid works is ideal).

Desirable skills and experience for the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - FEA:

- Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
- Material science especially metallurgy and nickel alloys

The ideal Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - FEA will have a strong mechanical engineering background in the Oil & Gas sector ideally dealing of down hole tools.

Even though this is a small company with a nice family feel environment, they are part of a $multi billion global organisation. Which gives them the benefit of having a strong international customer base. Hence why they are able to sell their sensors to some of the largest oil companies all around the world.
