Senior IT Infrastructure Systems Analyst - Network
£40,000 - £45,000 Basic + £6k On Call Allowance
My client are a global organisation who have their European head office in Luton, Bedfordshire.
They currently require a Senior IT Infrastructure Systems Analyst - Network / Server to join their busy team.
Your role will be to ensure efficient support of desktop PCs the IT network infrastructure, servers and associated applications.
My client is looking for someone with a broad skill set covering network and server technologies like: Cisco / Meraki, MS-Exchange 2010, VMware & Active Directory, Hyper-V.
In some ways, the more skills someone has the better but they are able to play to peoples strengths if they are better in some areas that others. They don't work a really specialist engineer who's only working on Exchange for example.
Your main responsibilities and duties as Senior IT Infrastructure Systems Analyst - Network / Server
> Systems Availability: Ensure availability and day-to-day operation, scheduling and technical support of the company's computer systems, IP-based networks (both LAN & WAN), telephone and fax systems. Perform fault-finding on PC and network systems to maintain their overall proper operation.
> Systems Provision: Evaluate and deploy new systems as requested by line management, planning and organising roll-out as necessary. Ensure provision of an adequate and responsive IT infrastructure and core applications such as email. Assist organisation and maintenance the central computer room. Ensure areas of performance, efficiency, integration and security are dealt with.
> System Performance: Monitor and control the performance of network operations, and provide technical support as necessary to maintain performance at an adequate level.
> Security: Operate and maintain adequate and appropriate security mechanisms to ensure the privacy and integrity of corporate data. Oversee the regular backup and secure storage of all key data, and protect against virus attacks.
> End-User Support: Provide end-user support for escalated helpdesk issues, plus systems maintenance and administration. Ensure a responsive, effective and reliable service for UK offices and Field Offices too.
Knowledge / experience required for the Senior IT Infrastructure Systems Analyst - Network / Server job:
> Good knowledge of Cisco networking technologies including Routing and Firewall/VPN technologies.
> In-depth knowledge and practical experience of Microsoft Windows 2003+ and Microsoft Exchange 2010 administration for a medium size commercial organisation.
> Knowledge of Lync / Skype for Business
> Broad range of experience in all areas of IT infrastructure.
Highly Desirable (not essential):
> Microsoft Systems Centre
> Good knowledge of Citrix infrastructure
> Good knowledge of virtualisation technologies preferable VMware ESX.
Desirable (not essential):
> Microsoft MCSE/MCP qualification.
> Cisco CCNA/CCNP qualification.
> Good knowledge of SAN technologies. HP desirable.
They do have an on-call rota because the Luton office is the EMEA HQ and responsible for the IT backbone that covers this region. It is very rare anyone is over actually called out to cover this and a generous annual allowance is paid, whether you're ever called out or not.
