Senior FPGA Designer to required join a Cambridge based R & D company who develop sophisticated Opto-Electronic products for Space, High Performance Automotive, Military and Industrial applications. The job is extremely interesting and varied and will pay a salary of up to about £ 60K.

The Senior FPGA Designer job is a really unusual and exceptional opportunity for an experienced FPGA Design Engineer to join a well established, high calibre R & D SME who operate at the absolute forefront of their technology space - a mixture of Optics and infra - red imaging.

This Senior FPGA Designer job would be ideal for a candidate who enjoys the challenge and interest of working with a variety of technologies and is happy to immerse themselves in an application area that may be outside their previous experience.

The post involves a wide variety of FPGA design tasks (FPGA design, using Verilog, on the full range of families (Actel, Xilinx, Lattice, Altera)) and the technologies involved are varied, but the core requirement is excellent FPGA / CPLD design and development skills.

Familiarity with other technologies is also of benefit, ideally including:
> SoC
> DSP and microprocessors
> Precision and video rate analogue design
> Optoelectronics and power supply design

You would be working in a capable mixed discipline R & D team and must be able to demonstrate -
> 3+ years of experience in FPGA design and a sound understanding of the principles involved
> A real enthusiasm for learning about new technologies and working in new technology areas
