This role will involve conducting different tasks every day and being a part of exciting new projects.
The role - Senior Engineer / Manager - Production / Test
You will assist the Product Engineering Manager in managing a team of technicians and junior engineers and bringing new products to market. You will lead the design of test systems, manage test campaigns, and support the business processes that underpin our methods of working.
The candidate will be expected to manage a series of internal and customer funded test projects, leading engineers and technicians as needed and producing customer reports and presentations. In addition to this, they will be asked to design internal test systems and modification to systems (sample holders, adding performance capability or improving current designs). It is expected that the engineer will lead the design reviews for these projects producing all necessary documentation - traditional calculations, CAD drawing packs, Bills of Materials, risk assessments etc.
The candidate will also be involved in managing sub-contractors responsible for delivering elements of new products - with the ambition of eventually taking over the responsibility of managing our suppliers directly and introducing new products as our business evolves.
As a small company, an understanding of the practical side of engineering is a huge advantage - there will be times that they need to support Production with small amounts of fabrication and assembly using basic hand and powered tools.
Experience of some / all of the list below will be required for the Senior Engineer / Manager - Production / Test:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering discipline.
- Experience with 3D CAD software, ideally Solidworks.
- Experience of electronical design
- Experience leading small teams or managing projects.
- Experience using measurement equipment.
- Experience of mechanical and electrical tools and manufacturing techniques.
- Experience working in accordance with an ISO9001:2015 certified QMS and processes
- Possess strong communication and presentation skills.
