Job description

A capable Senior Electronic Design Engineer - Optics is required to join a Cambridge based R & D company who develop sophisticated Opto-Electronic products for Space, High Performance Automotive, Military and Industrial applications. The job is extremely interesting and varied and will pay a salary of up to about £ 60K.

The Senior Electronic Design Engineer - Optics job is a really unusual and exceptional opportunity for an experienced Analogue / Digital Engineer to join a well established, high calibre R & D SME who operate at the absolute forefront of their technology space - a mixture of Optics and infra - red imaging.

This Senior Electronic Design Engineer - Optics job would be ideal for a candidate who enjoys the challenge and interest of working with a variety of technologies and is happy to immerse themselves in an application area that may be outside their previous experience.

The post will involve undertaking a wide variety of tasks involved in optical / electronics design including feasibility, circuit design, PCB layout, system integration, EMC and Low Voltage product approvals and production support.

The technologies involved are also varied but core requirements are excellent FPGA's /CPLD's development skills.

You would be working in a capable mixed discipline R & D team and must be able to demonstrate -

> 3+ years of experience in Digital and Analoge Electronic design and a sound understanding of the principles involved
> A real enthusiasm for learning about new technologies and working in new technology areas
