Job description

My client, a leading Semiconductor company have a Semiconductor Equipment Engineer job opportunities at their fantastic facility based in the Manchester area.

The role is based on a rotating day and night shift pattern (Continental) of 4 on 4 off 12 hours shifts so the candidate must be prepared to work shifts for this role. The role also comes with fantastic career progression to Principal Engineer or Managerial level.

Responsibilities of the Semiconductor Equipment Engineer job in Manchester include:-

- Maintaining, repairing and improving semiconductor wafer processing equipment and diagnose the root cause of complex problems.
- Breakdowns and troubleshooting in order to optimise uptime and minimise downtime of the semiconductor tools.
- Initiating and applying equipment performance programs. - Liaise with suppliers ensuring the best possible support for the production equipment and tool sets.
- Deliver cost reduction, cycle time reduction, yield improvement and inventing 'key performance indicators'.
- Performing maintenance task and risk assessments.
- Make effective contributions to cross-functional improvement teams.

The ideal candidate for the semiconductor Equipment Engineer job in Manchester will come from a semiconductor or multi-skilled background with electronic, electro-mechanical and mechanical service and maintenance experience with the ability to fault find to component level and solve complex technical problems. The candidate will likely have a minimum of an HNC/HND in a relevant engineering based discipline. Candidates from other industries including medical, pharmaceutical, MOD and special purpose machines have successfully cross-trained into this high tech industry.
