A global high-technology Product Design and Manufacturing Specialist are looking for an R&D Engineering Project Manager based in Livingston, Scotland to manage the design, development and delivery of multi-discipline (hardware, software, mechanical) products for a variety of international clients. Applications include Medical, Communications, Industrial and Aerospace.

Most projects are electronically biased so this is their preferred design background, but if you are trained in another discipline with solid experience in electronic product and system design this will be OK.

They are a fast-growing multi-national organisation within the Design and Electronic Manufacturing Services industry who work in a variety of industry sectors and offer their clients a full product life-cycle process. This is a new role due to continued expansion and an exciting time for the R&D Engineering Project Manager - Electronics to join the organisation which is growing in strength and presence year on year.

The role of R&D Engineering Project Manager - Electronics will be to create project proposals, present to and review with customers; provide technical leadership and direction to cross functional project teams (hardware, software, mechanical); direct resource allocation for projects and manage project schedules and budgets; lead team and customer communications and ensure customer satisfaction and to develop long-term customer relationships.

Our client is interested in hearing from candidates who are educated to degree level within either Electronic or possibly Software Engineering and who possess cross-functional management experience and solid knowledge of electronic product and electronic system design.

The ideal R&D Engineering Project Manager - Electronics will be in a Project Manager role with a technically challenging product Design company already. You will have a solid electronic product design background but may have only recently moved your career into project management.

Candidates should possess strong team building, leadership, problem solving, decision making, budgeting, scheduling and communication skills.

Skills & experience required for the R&D Engineering Project Manager - Electronics job:
> Complete product development experience
> Demonstrable engineering track record in Electronics or possibly Software but with a solid appreciation of all 3 design disciplines (including mechanical)
> Project or programme leadership, or responsibility
> Experience of, or a strong desire to lead projects and work with customers
> Ability or experience of team leadership
> Drive, determination, creativity
> Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The company will offer support and training for a junior Project Manager looking to further develop their career into Project Management.
