Job description

My client design and manufacture a range of highly successful electro-mechanical products that are sold all over the world, in high volumes.

Due to expansion they currently require a Project Manager - Electro-mech to join their engineering team.

They currently outsource almost all of their engineering / design work. Most of this work is mechanical design with some electrical. The products are all plastic and manufactured in high volume. Your role will be to work with all of their design partners to ensure what they're designs are correct and that they will be delivered on time and on budget. Therefore you'll need a good understanding of mechanical design (ideally having worked as a mechanical design engineer) along with having good project management experience.

They have a very modern office which includes, pool tables, fully stocked bar, PS3's and free food.

Job Purpose:
Managing the product development process from concept generation through to manufacture. Specifically focusing on technical feasibility to ensure the continued growth, innovation and financial success

Responsibilities for the Project Manager - Electro-mech will include:
Managing the development of new products from concept through to manufacture, mainly via 3rd parties.
Managing multiple product lines at one time, and coordinating the activity of yourself and key stakeholders.
Project Management of both internal and external stakeholders to ensure all projects are delivered on time and on cost.

Key skills for the Project Manager - Electro-mech will include:
Good knowledge of MS-Project (or Prince2 etc)
Good track record of delivering design projects, from concept to manufacture, on time and on budget.
Experience of mechanical design concepts for plastics. Ideally in high volume. Direct mechanical design experience would be ideal.
Good knowledge of 3D CAD packages. They used Solidworks, but knowledge of any mainstream CAD package would be fine.
