Programme Manager - Technology into Mass Production, Cambridge £ Excellent for the right person

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a capable, experienced, technology focused Programme Manager with a history of delivering complex products to market, to join a very successful, expanding high technology design and engineering company who are based in Cambridge.

The company work with well-known manufacturers across the world and specialise in pioneering and developing cutting-edge technology for image stabilisation and auto-focus applications from concept to mass production. They achieve this through technology licensing and partnerships with global manufacturing corporations. Amongst their extensive IP patents is a technology that allows the control, positioning and movement of smart materials with high precision. This nano technology enables the materials to be positioned with the accuracy of the wavelength of light and they are the only company in the world to master and control these materials with such exceptional accuracy.

Along with offering variety day to day in a stimulating and exciting environment, the company also bring products to market, seeing the entire process through from inception through to high volume mass production. This provides a real sense of achievement for the team.

The ideal Person -

Would be a dynamic and robust programme manager who is keen to to join a growing team of world-class technologists. This new position has arisen out of the rapid growth and success of the company, and the extensive and growing number of customer projects that are currently under way.

You would need to be able to play a significant role in a highly skilled team, prioritising activities, balancing long and short-term objectives and finding efficient ways to solve problems.

Main Responsibilities of the job include -

> Customer facing and customer management (experience >5 years)
> Driving projects and programmes to time, cost and quality targets (experience >5 years)
> Introducing new products to market (experience ideally for the smartphone or similar high-tech, high volume market)
> Drive a multi-disciplinary programme engineering team
> Co-ordinating technical teams
> Build and maintain strong customer relationships

Skills, Qualifications and Experience for this job:

> Ideally a 1st or 2.1 class degree in an engineering discipline
> Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals including mechanical, electronic, control and software elements
> Minimum of 5 years delivering successful projects, ideally with experience of introducing new products into market
> Experience of communicating, showing initiative, making decisions and presenting confidently

This is an exceptional Job opportunity for a Technology capable Programme / Project Manager to join a very successful, expanding and friendly company and really influence a variety of high-tech, high volume cutting edge projects, in a technically challenging environment.

You will be working on projects for smartphones, drones, medical and autonomous driving applications and should be comfortable delivering in an R & D to mass production environment.
