Job description

Scotland's most renowned product design consultancy currently have a new job opportunity for a Product Engineer to join an international business dedicated to developing and manufacturing products on behalf of a range of blue-chip customers covering Telecoms, Medical, Instrumentation, Datacoms and Defence sectors.
As a Product Engineer, you will be working in test development, where you will provide design qualification and engineering support throughout all stages of the product development and manufacturing life-cycle.
Some of the job responsibilities for the Product Engineer will involve:

- Develop verification approaches and agency testing concepts that satisfy the customer's requirements.
- Support the scheduling and coordination of design verification testing, including agency submittals and off-site testing, and communicate status to the development team in a timely manner to ensure adherence to schedule and budget.
- Develop, maintain and execute design verification, environmental and reliability test plans, traceability matrices, procedures, equipment, results, and other related documents to ensure product consistently meet high-quality standards and agency requirements
- Participate in design reviews for customer projects as appropriate to ensure quality design output.
- Support the development and assembly of prototypes by providing documentation and technical assistance to design engineering staff, material procurement team, and others as necessary
- Execute EMC, safety, and environmental pre-compliance test procedures utilising the in-house test equipment to ensure the success of off-site compliance/agency testing.

Skills & Abilities required from the Product Engineer:

- Excellent problem-solving skills and learning agility
- Comfortable speaking with customers, suppliers and other parties
- Possesses basic knowledge of EMC, safety compliance standards and test agency processes
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes an advantage
- Possesses the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment

One of their global design centres is based in Central Scotland's from where they undertake design projects on behalf of European and International customers.
