Job description
Are you looking for a Photonic IC Design Engineer position and able to commute to or relocate to Northamptonshire?
A global leading business specialising in optical components, modules and subsystems is currently recruiting for a Photonic IC Design Engineer to join their expanding Chip Engineering team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and skilful Photonic IC Design Engineer to join a world renowned R&D focused & driving organisation.
The purpose of this Photonic IC Design Engineer job is product development and research in optoelectronic components.
Key Responsibilities:
> Product development of new and improved photonic devices and photonic integrated circuits (PICs), for coherent detection and direct detection systems above 100 Gb/s.
> Research and development of photonic III-V semiconductor device technologies, design methodologies, fabrication techniques and systems applications
> Activities will include PIC device design & modelling (optical waveguides, semiconductor materials and physics, RF, and others), followed by experimental characterisation and performance investigation
Skills Desired:
> Degree, Masters or a PhD in physics, electrical/electronic engineering, materials science or a related discipline.
> Experience in the design for optics, optoelectronics, semiconductor technology, solid state physics, electronics or telecommunications.
> Specific relevant areas of previous experience include semiconductor materials and devices, semiconductor lasers, semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOA), optical modulators, photonic integrated circuits (PIC), PIC design software, microwave/millimetre-wave RF, and 10/40/100G circuitry.
