Are you a PCB design engineer based around Hayes seeking a new job and want to be a part of a global leader of radar equipment?

My client is currently looking to welcome a PCB Design Engineer who will be responsible for the entire range of PCB design responsibilities. You will be capturing PCB circuit layouts using their CAD tool, managing their component library, adding new components and validating their schematic symbols and footprints.

Skills and experience required for the PCB Design Engineer:

Teamwork Skills of the ideal PCB Design Engineer :

- Work closely with the design engineers to develop and agree the product architecture.
- Support both internal and customer facing Design reviews.
- Work with key suppliers to agree requirements and resolve issues.
- Work with production engineers and operations to ensure that DFM & Test is built into all new designs.

Technical Skills of the ideal PCB Design Engineer:

- In-depth knowledge of PCB schematic design and layout.
- Knowledge of the Altium software package is not essential but preferred - Training will be provided if needed.
- Knowledge of PCB construction including flexi-rigid and metal backed PCBs.
- Knowledge of creepage and clearance rules for hazardous voltage protection.
- Knowledge of PCB connection systems.
- Knowledge of design for EMC.

Main Responsibilities of the PCB Design Engineer include:

- Capture circuit schematics and produce PCB layouts using Altium based on input from electronic and mechanical design engineers.
- Develop and maintain components libraries and ensure their integrity.
- Assist design engineers to partition and package electronic circuits with regard for thermal, vibration, shock and EMC environments.
- Ensure PCBs meet statutory company design rules and customer defined design rules including high voltage separation, grounding and thermal management.
