NEW MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER JOBS AVAILABLE IN DIDCOT, OXFORDSHIRE
THE JOB / COMPANY
The UK's leading scientific research organisation are rapidly expanding their research and development department and seeking multiple Mechanical Design Engineers to join their large facility in Didcot, Oxfordshire. In this role you will gain the opportunity to work closely with a large team of internal engineering staff, designing 3D CAD drawings for various mechanical and electro-mechanical projects.
You will be designing 3D mechanical drawings for ultra-high vacuum systems, stable support structures, precision mechanisms, cryogenics and other scientific equipment. This role will involve producing layouts, assembly drawings and detailed manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD and Pro-E.
Due to year-on-year success they are looking to add multiple Mechanical Design Engineers to the business and therefore they are keen to add mid-level and senior level engineers to the business.
This Mechanical Design job is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the world's most renowned scientific company's, who are offering the opportunity to work on a broad level of complex technology. They are commutable from Oxford, Reading, Burford, Newbury, Thame, High Wycombe, Abingdon and Aylesbury.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
> Previous experience in 3D CAD design using AutoCAD, Pro-E or a similar CAD package.
> Previous experience in mechanical design engineering within an R&D department.
> Ability to create designs for sheet metal structures and enclosures.
> Exposure to ultra-high vacuum (UHV) systems would be beneficial but not essential.
> Experience in ANSYS or a similar FEA package would be beneficial but not essential.
> To be qualified with a relevant mechanical engineering focused degree.
> Able to communicate effectively within a large design team.
