My client design and manufacture market leading Optronic solutions for Defence & Aerospace applications. This includes head up displays for commercial airliners, helmet mounted displays for 4th & 5th generation fast jet platforms, night vision for the dismounted soldier, and advanced electro-optics for airborne, maritime and vehicle platforms.
An exciting new opportunity has opened at the North Wales site for a Mechanical Design Engineer -Electronics to join their exciting R&D team.
Consideration will be given to candidates with less industrial experience however you will need to demonstrate strong potential. However, the ideal Mechanical Design Engineer-Electronics should have the following experience and attributes :
- An education to at least first degree level in Mechanical Engineering / Product Design
- Proven experience in designing plastic injection moulded products for volume manufacture
- A good understanding of modern manufacturing processes, materials, and design for manufacture
- Some experience working with design software tools (e.G. Pro-ENGINEER Wildfire / Creo 3D modelling ,2D detailing)
Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer - Electronics will include :
- Being involved in all stages of the design process:
- Defining target specifications with the customer
- Development of concepts, detailed design and analysis
- Generating mechanical design data for manufacture
- Providing technical support to the manufacturing, assembly and test processes
- Producing design study reports and contributing technical inputs to proposals
