Job description

Due to growth, my client are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join a long standing, profitable company and one of the most advanced and experienced contract electronics manufacturers within the United Kingdom undertaking PCB Assembly, PCB prototyping, complex electronics sub-assembly or full turnkey Box Build for a range of markets including communications, aerospace, IT and automotive.

Key responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer, Towcester, job will include creating, defining and maintaining manufacturing processes, recognising appropriate methods and equipment to perform the processes depending on product, generating quotations for equipment and tools and support processes with suitable documentation and training. You will also be responsible for liaising with the manufacturing and management teams and providing first line support and routine maintenance for equipment performance and breakdown. You will support 'in process' Continuous Improvement activity across the full product development and manufacture life cycle and preform analysis of manufacturing defects and process failures to determine root cause and develop corrective actions.

The Manufacturing Engineer in Towcester, Northamptonshire will have a good level of understanding of IPC-A-610 and will preferably have a degree in an Engineering related subject or suitable technical equivalent. You will also have experience conducting DFMEA and PFMEA reviews with respect to new and existing products.
The ideal candidate will also have root cause analysis experience, experience working in a low volume/high mix contract electronic manufacturing environment or mechanical sub assembly and have knowledge of both surface mount and conventional assembly methods and processes including, but not limited to, programming of assembly equipment, generation of reflow profiles, cleaning systems, selective soldering.
