Job description


I am currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer for a company based in Cambridge. The company are market leaders in temperature controlled laboratory equipment, data logging systems and environmental monitoring solutions.

The Manufacturing Engineer, Cambridge, will be responsible for providing process related technical support to manufacturing operations. This includes the introduction of newly developed products to manufacture, sustaining of existing manufacturing operations and the retirement of products at the end of market life.

The Manufacturing Engineer, Cambridge, will develop, implement and maintain manufacturing processes that meet Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD) targets, will author and maintain process documentation e.G. Work Instructions, will train manufacturing staff on newly introduced or modified processes, will ensure manufacturing equipment is serviceable e.G. Properly maintained, calibrated and operating as intended, and will apply a Continuous Improvement(CI) approach to identifying opportunities for improvement e.G. Cost, time, capacity, resource, skill, equipment.

The ideal candidate will understand manufacturing processes relating to electro-mechanical products,have experience with new product development and introduction to manufacture, be used to technical support of manufacturing operations and ideally have a degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related technical discipline. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of Lean Manufacturing tools e.G. 5S, JIT, Kanban, Poka-Yoke Value Stream Mapping etc. And their practical application and will also be proficient in the use of 3D CAD modelling applications e.G. SolidWorks.
