Major Account Manager - Defence

A global leader in Defence and Aerospace solutions, my client has a pedigree in delivering subsystems for critical commercial, defence, avionics and intelligent gathering applications such as electronic warfare. The Major Account Manager - Defence is responsible for the long-term relationships within a limited number of strategic UK & European based defence accounts, maximising sales opportunities of products and services. Additionally, the Major Account Manager will assume leadership of the business development and requirement capture process within the accounts whilst develop the number of opportunities within the existing customer community.
Major Account Manager job responsibilities include:
Key senior interface for major account/(s). Maintain contact within the account at a high, executive level, focusing on the strategic nature of the relationship.
Responsible for identifying and qualifying long-term and short-term business opportunities and pro-actively identifying and addressing competitive threats and that price positioning are aligned to the companies objectives.
Presents to all levels of the organisation including executives, leads negotiations, coordinate complex decision-making processes and overcome objectives to closure.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technical developments and government programs that effect target markets.
Determine market strategies and goals for products and service within the named accounts.
A leadership role in coordinating account strategy and tactics for sales support, systems engineering etc.
Requirements of the Major Account Manager job:
A charismatic and inspirational sales leadership style, coupled with a demonstrable track record of winning and delivering£multi-million complex defence and security solutions.
You will be a degree qualified industry professional with a demonstrable history in Defence, Aerospace, Avionics or Electronic Warfare.
The level of competence in technology, combined with sales leadership abilities.
Excellent track record of relationship building, major account development, and business wins.
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the drive and dynamism to secure high-profile sales.
