Job description

A leading provider of power solutions are looking for a Lead Test Engineer - Electronics to join their R&D site near Epping in Essex.

Their portfolio includes some of the world's most commonly used SMPS power supplies, converters, standby systems & UPS's and they are currently investing into the research and development of digitally controlled power supplies.

The Lead Test Engineer - Electronics will be responsible for looking after a team of 5-6 test engineer's and you will spend approximately 50% of your time hands on, 50% running the day to day of the team and the labs.

Key skills/experience required for the Lead Test Engineer - Electronics job:
> Proven experience of leading a test team
> Power supply knowledge - experience of testing them
> Using standard test equipment, hand soldering (including SMT) and environmental chamber testing
> Experience of SVT, thermal and EMC testing useful but not essential


Key responsibilities of the Lead Test Engineer - Electronics job:
> Organise the test engineers work schedules and efficient running of the labs
> Supporting the design engineers to ensure the testing is done in a timely manner
> Hands on technical work such as building and testing electronic assemblies, components, loads and circuits, reviewing and preparing product test procedures and assembling & troubleshooting functional prototypes
