Job description

Our client is looking to appoint a talented Senior HR Advisor or HR Manager for their pioneering business based in Andover close to Basingstoke, Hampshire. The business has been acquired by a much larger organisation, who specialise in the same technologies offering substantial backing for this business. Up until now the business never had a standalone Human Resources Manager, but moving forward they need structure in place.

Main duties of the HR Manager will be as follows:

> Ensuring robust controls/ procedures across the business
> Updating of the employee handbooks and controlling re-distribution to employees
> Updating and rationalising policies & procedures of the company, ensuring they are in line with quality manual and UK legislation
> Use modern methodologies for recruitment for all levels of the business and use psychometric testing for key roles and for the development of key positions
> Immigration - Be familiar with the UK's Immigration Regulations, manage the Home Office SMS system and ensure compliance across the business
> Be responsible for the organograms of the business and headcount
> Take control of the L&D side of the business , developing training plans for each department, together with the mentoring structure
> Organise up-skilling for staff and CPD for professional staff and other senior managers
> Organise the Health & Safety training across the site
> Take control of appraisals
> Payroll - Manage the data flow for payroll and manage absenteeism
> Control the occupational health requirements for the business
> Synchronise all company plans with resource planning, training planning, budgetary planning
> UK Pension - have a full understanding of UK legislation and auto enrolment
> Take control of the annual salary reviews
> Be responsible for the company benefits and maintain as necessary

The ideal individual for the HR Manager

You will have strong academic credentials including CIPD qualified, have an HR generalist background with some exposure to L&D. HR experience in a manufacturing company is a must or ideally aligned to engineering or technology biased business.
