Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to gain experience as a Graduate Product Development Engineer - Electronics with the chance to work on the full life-cycle of a product?!

My client is actively seeking a Graduate Product Development Engineer to work within the Design Engineering team on an exciting new design of a wireless fire alarm system. The R&D department is looking to take on an enthusiastic and motivated person with excellent problem-solving skills to carry out testing, fault-finding and documenting of development activities.

They are also open to a raw graduate who has graduated in an engineering degree in Electronics or similar. They are expecting to train someone into the main elements of this job. Once trained the main responsibilities of the Graduate Product Development Engineer - Electronics will include:

-Work with software and hardware development engineers as part of a multi-disciplinary project team and will suit someone who is interested in challenging new technologies.
- Designing and building test boxes to aid in development and testing.
- Testing and diagnosis of hardware and software functionality and bug fixing.
- Familiarity with PCB assemblies (inspection, testing and fault-finding). And the ability to rework components on PCB's.
- Ability to help with design changes required when prototype design issues are found.

Desirable.
-Development and writing of detailed test plans, procedures and test reports to ensure the highest quality product possible and helping to bring it to market on time
- Liaising with test houses for various tests. This could require some travel.
- Technical support to customers after product has launched.

This role will expose the successful candidate to many aspects of Product Development and Engineering Processes from requirements, architectural design, detailed design, implementation, Test, qualification and product launch.
