Job description

A world leader in the design and manufacture of electronic systems for the chemical industry is seeking a Global Technical Support Manager, to join then their Headquarters & Global Technology Centre in Burgess Hill site. The company are a major global leading engineering company who are part of a business worth over £10 billion. They develop complex, high value, high speed machinery which is used in the manufacture of semiconductors.

Global Technical Support Manager, Burgess Hill will be responsible for the implementation, management and development of the global technical service and support the function for the semiconductor service division. The prime purpose of the role is to enable the best in class technical support systems and processes for our customers to improve their satisfaction and productivity. The Global Technical Support Manager will have functional responsibility for the regional technical support teams circa of 50 professional engineering/technical globally distributed staff. This global role covers all semiconductor customers regions e.G. USA, EMEA, Japan, China, South Korea, Taiwan & SEA. They will be making high level strategic, operational and functional decisions affecting the global technical support program and associated processes so they can have a major impact. The Global Technical Support Manager will be part of the central Senior Field Operations management team with reporting line directly to the Vice President of Field Operations and Safety.

The Global Technical Support Manager, Burgess Hill will have an Engineering or Physics degree as well as proven success and track record in a similar customer focused, technical support role with experience of working within a fast-moving environment. They will have also established and/or run a successful global technical support operation with data driven result. They will have experience of functional management of a global technical support team. Experience in the semiconductor industry would be very beneficial.
