Finance Pensions Manager

Circa £55,000 plus company car, generous pension and other benefits.

Our client is seeking a Pensions Manager to lead in the UK from Warrington. The aim of the Pensions Manager is to support the business with strategic actions regarding various pension plans from the UK and across to Ireland.
You will also act as Secretary to the trustees for the UK defined benefit and defined contribution plans. Within both parts of the position you'll work closely with trustees, senior management, HR contacts, compensation and benefits, the group pension's team, based in Europe and some external advisors.

Pension Manager Role:
> Partner with the HR Benefits team to the pension is in place to attract and keep the best talent for the business
> Provide advice to Senior Management in the UK regarding financial related topics
> Ensure accurate and timely accounting and reporting
> Take the lead in the preparation of statutory pension accounts, ensuring US GAAP accurate reporting, working closely with auditors and actuaries
> Designing and implementing SOX controls
> Monitor the assets of the various pension plans and report findings to trustees
> Manage all external advisor relationships

Secretary to the trustee Role:

> Assist the trustees in developing and maintaining a strong and effective trustee board and committee
> Maintain a knowledge of pension and regulatory and legislative developments
> Support effective decision making process and coordinating committee activities
> Draft trustee reports and accounts and other statutory documents
> Assist in the implementation of new asset managers

For this position you will need a university degree and/or a pension specific professional qualification. A strong background ideally from a multinational organisation.
Desirable experience would be prior Secretary to trustee's exposure, knowledge of FCA, DWP and TPR regulatory codes and practices. APMI accreditation would also be a bonus.
