This is a full time and permanent job working within the Cambridgeshire area, easily accessible from locations such as Cambridge, Luton, Bedford, Letchworth, Ely, St Neots, Saffron Walden, Bishops Stortford and other surrounding areas. The responsibilities for the Equipment Technician are:
- Primarily responsible for electromechanical development and assembly of bespoke equipment solutions
- Hands on assembly, fabrication and commissioning work for in-house builds; including electronics, electrical panels, mechanical parts, cables, equipment wiring and control systems.
- Design of simple electronic interfaces, wiring diagrams, electrical schematics/PCB layouts and cable assemblies for new R&D test equipment. This includes both analogue and digital electronics disciplines, microcontrollers and PLC development.

The applicant for the Equipment Technician job must have:

- Demonstrable experience in an R&D, engineering or manufacturing development environment.
- Experience in soldering, wiring and electronics instrumentation; including adherence to industrial best practice.
- Hands on equipment building and commissioning experience.
- Ability to design appropriate electrical interface for test equipment (wiring loom, control boxes, junction boxes, cable assemblies, interlocking etc.) And debugging skills as required.
