This leading global Engineering company with fantastic career opportunities are seeking a Project Manager to join their growing team based in Guildford, Surrey.

The Engineering Project Manager will develop & execute projects (typically £1M - £10M), this includes feasibility studies, estimates and proposals for both internal projects and third party sales across all business areas in the UK & Ireland. You will be responsible for the delivery of approved engineering projects safely, on time and in budget to meet the needs of the business.

The ideal candidate will have a background in R&D / Engineering, their projects tend to be focused around mechanical engineering disciplines but they are open to candidates with experience of managing electronic / electrical / software projects.

Responsibilities for the Engineering Project Manager role will include:
> Utilise company procedures in the execution and delivery of projects safely, on budget and on time.
> To be commercially astute in ensuring that project design/costs developed are competitive & fit for purpose
> Responsible for identifying and controlling project risk including through ensuring that the appropriate project execution strategies are implemented. This includes variation management to increase sales and limiting/controlling supplier/contractor variations.
> To plan, manage and co-ordinate engineering resource (internal & external) to execute projects

Required Skills/Experience - Functional / Technical of the Engineering Project Manager job:
> Proven track record of delivering projects on time, cost and to appropriate standards
> Experience of working closely with R&D / Engineering teams, driving projects involving any of the following: Mechanical ideally, or - Electrical, Electronic, Software.
> Competent in project and programme management including both contracting and operating company environments, proposals, tendering, sub-contract activity, financial/cost management.
> Experience of developing the commercial arrangements for projects (customer & supplier) and managing variations
> Experience of projects which have included automation elements would be beneficial
> Engineering degree or equivalent plus several years' practical industrial experience (post graduate scheme or equivalent) in a relevant discipline. Or the equivalent practical, conceptual and theoretical knowledge and experienced gained through continuous and sustained growth in a range of increasingly complex engineering roles.
