Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Manager based in North Wales to join this global organisation that designs and manufactures advanced optical systems for defence & aerospace, medical & life sciences and industrial manufacturing applications.

Due to continued growth they are seeking an Engineering Manager, North Wales to join their dynamic team. They would be responsible for all engineering and technical disciplines contributing to an ongoing project and deliverables. The project involves the management of a fleet of high value and complex optical equipment and products requiring the scheduling, planning, forecasting, resourcing and management of all of the associated technical engineering activities in order to assure project safety, accuracy and quality from conception to completion.

The successful candidate for the Engineering Manager, North Wales will forge and maintain excellent relationships with all stakeholders, they will report to the Project Director on assigned engineering projects, will monitor compliance to all relevant QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications, interact daily with customers to resolve technical issues highlighted through the dedicated helpdesk, will perform overall quality control of the equipment and report regularly on project status, assign responsibilities and mentor project team and comply with all ISO and health and safety requirements.

The successful candidate will have a degree/HND in Engineering - Electronics/Mechanical/Optical, experience of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Project, have excellent communication and people skills and be a flexible individual, who is willing to work overtime and on-call to meet business and customer needs, possibly at short notice. It is desirable to have a knowledge of the MoD Dismounted Close Combat (DCC) market and Surveillance, Target acquisition and Night Observation (STANO) equipment would be extremely advantageous.
