Job description

A new opportunity has arisen for an EMC Test Development Engineer based in Cambridge to join a global business developing ruggedised electronic equipment used by the military. The main purpose of the EMC Test Development Engineer is to manage, lead and support all EMC test development and Tempest engineered solutions from initial enquiry ensuring efficient and effective implementation in line with all applicable legislation.

Key responsibilities of the EMC Test Development Engineer job based in Cambridge:
- Work as an integral part of the design and development team to identify and recommend TEMPEST control and functional approaches to ensure compliance with UK and NATO standards, during the entire product development process and through to volume production.
- To act as TEMPEST design authority for all new developments
- Define internal and external EMC, environmental and functional test programmes
- Create, manage and approve design documentation, BOM's and product test specifications in accordance with relevant standards

Key skills / experience required for the EMC Test Development Engineer job:
- Engineering experience with working knowledge of all UK TEMPEST standards, incl. SDIP55, SDIP 27 & SDIP 29
- Familiar with Nationally Recognised Test Laboratory (NRTL) standards and CE Mark criteria
- Experience of working in a regulated industry, understanding data storage criteria and handling sensitive information up to UK Secret

The EMC Test Development Engineer must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance, therefore you MUST be a UK resident of 10 years or more to be considered for this position.
