Electronics Lab Technician - PCB, SMD, test, rework, electro-mechanical, Surrey, to £ 35K + benefits

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Electronics Lab Technician to join the multi-disciplined R & D team of a company who develop advanced intelligent drive solutions and specialist sensor positioning systems for broadcast, AV and industrial applications. You would be working with complex cameras / video equipment along with other really interesting technology such as brushless motors and high precision positioning systems.

This is a very interesting and varied job, where you would be responsible for prototype PCB construction, fault find and test, SMD repair and rework, design, development and maintenance of in-house test systems, amongst other duties.

Key responsibilities would include -

> Design and development of concept demonstrators for new products.
> Design and development of test systems for BLDC motors and other microcontroller circuits.
> Prototype PCB construction, fault finding and testing.
> Maintenance and development of in-house production test systems.
> Repair and modification of production PCBs.
> Undertake development and verification test programs.
> General Laboratory duties.

Previous experience would ideally include -

> Construction of prototype and demonstration systems from current PCBs and new glue circuitry.
> Operation, measurement and test of low voltage electronic circuits.
> Experience in SMD repair, rework and servicing of electronics equipment using appropriate tools such as oscilloscope, electronic loads, light meters, flux meters, multi-meters and bench PSUs.
> Practical machine shop experience and assembly experience for small electro-mechanical systems such as brushless motors.
> Experience in undertaking development and verification test programs.
> Experience of operating in ISO 9001 environments and to industry specific standards.

You should also be able to read and understand schematics, with the ability to power (bench supply) and operate PCBs, including loading software and using specialist camera / video equipment to generate video to check the operation of and evaluate circuit performance.

A really excellent Job, where an experienced Electronics Lab Technician could fully use their existing PCB, SMD, electro-mechanical experience, as well as learn new skills / work with new technologies in a well equipped Lab environment.
