Are you looking for an LED Development role in Buckinghamshire?

A unique opportunity has arisen for a Development Engineer - LED to work for a global design and manufacturing company in the electronics industry based in Buckingham.

Your role will include working as part of the team responsible for testing, developing and approving prototype and preproduction designs.

Whilst the ideal candidate will have LED lighting and photometric experience, they will consider candidates with testing experience within the Automotive industry.

Key responsibilities of the Development Engineer - LED job:
> Developing mechanical, optical and electronic systems on lighting projects to meet customer requirements
> Photometric and colour testing of automotive lighting products using LED technology
> Analysis of test data to establish the cause of any photometric performance issues
> Prototype development and test to optimise new designs

The testing and development work will cover photometric, environmental, thermal and electronic issues. The Development Engineer - LED will also responsible for supporting problem solving together with the project teams, proposing solutions, prototyping and testing further as applicable.

There will be direct involvement in the project at every level from customer to supplier. The development will cover all aspects of the design lifecycle from early prototypes in advanced technologies (laser, matrix lighting) to production ready systems.

Preferred experience for Development Engineer - LED job:
> Experience with LED lighting systems and basic understanding of electronic and optical systems. Understanding of LED data sheets LED parameters / operation. Understanding of thermal management of LED systems.
> Experience of automotive lighting and familiarity of relevant regulations.
> Basic understanding of photometric testing theory. Practical experience of using photometric test equipment such as a goniophotometer, illuminance meter.
> Experience of 2D / 3D CAD modelling and simulation (vibration or thermal).
