Redline Group, once again have another fantastic OUTSIDE IR35 contract opportunity. This time for an experienced Contract Stress Engineer, with our leading space technology client based in Oxfordshire, who are currently involved in a globally recognised space project. This 6-month contract is offered on a flexible hybrid working basis, giving you the opportunity to experience a state of the art facility where collaboration and team work is at the forefront of the client culture. As a Contract Stress Engineer you will be responsible for the extraction of data for detail stressing and refining existing FEM. The preparation and specification of plans of mechanical testing such as acoustic, sine and random is key to this position. In addition to this, responsibilities also include;
Previous experience with MSC Adams and /or MotionSolve is essential for this contract Stress Engineer position
Creation of calculations to assess margins of safety for various components.
Definition of a notching strategy
Definition of test instrumentation and generation of predictions
Definition of pass/stop criteria and the supervision of mechanical testing
Correlation of test data with analysis for Post-Test Review
YOU WILL NEED TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR SECURITY CLEARANCE AND ALREADY HAVE THE RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK
For the Contract Stress Engineer it is essential that you have previous experience in assessing dynamic loads and have ideally have knowledge of space industry standards. The client based in Oxfordshire utilises MSC Adams and MotionSolve, Hyperworks, combined with ANSYS, FeMAP and Nastran, so experience of one or more of these would be ideal.
